Etopia Rush!

Etopia Rush! is Etopia Press’s erotic romance imprint. These stories are first and foremost romance—they must have a happily-ever-after or a happy-for-now ending, and must have at their core a developing love relationship. But these books also have a high degree of sexuality and eroticism that cannot be separated from the story. The characters are inherently sexual, and their sexual relationship is a natural result of their developing relationship. Stories should possess more love scenes than a mainstream
romance, and use no euphemistic language. The sex scenes should be graphic and explicit—and hot. Like the rest of the story, the sex scenes should actively engage the reader. All romance readers want to feel the love, but erotic romance readers also want to feel the sex!

Stories can be any subgenre, including:

Contemporary Romance
Historical Romance
Western Romance
Paranormal Romance
Romantic Suspense
Action/Adventure Romance
Media and Sports Romance
BDSM Romance

Sexual content may include kink, fetish, bondage, D/s, multiple partners, and other alternative sexualities that may be offensive to some traditional romance readers. We’d love to see more LGBT, interracial, multicultural, BBW, May/December, and other kinds of variety and diversity (although this is true of all our imprints in all our genres).

Etopia Rush! stories should have:

1. Lots of hot, delicious sex! Take us with your characters
as they feel that rush of desire, of erotic love, of sexual pleasure. No
euphemistic language—keep it real, and keep it sexy!

2. No adultery and no cheating. The romantic pair (or more)
may not be married to others during the course of the story. In couples stories, the romantic couple may not have casual sex or a sexual relationship with anyone else once they have sex with each other. Previous lovers or situations may be OK, depending on the storyline. Your characters may be sexy and insatiable, but they only have eyes (and lips and hands and other things) for each other.

3. In ménage and multiple partner stories, the characters
must still be involved in a romantic, emotional relationship with one another—it’s not about casual sex. Characters involved with the multi relationship may have sex occasionally as couples, but only with other members of the multi relationship (that is, no one-nighters with outsiders—no cheating). In Etopia Rush! the “multi” relationship should develop and remain intact throughout the story and contain a happily-ever-after or happy-for-now ending for all, or at least most, of the characters, depending on the storyline. However, stories about a couple who have casual sex with others and remain only a couple at the end are more appropriate for the Etopia ’Rotica line. Remember, Etopia Rush! stories are still, at their heart, romance. We still want love and some initial form of commitment along
with the hot sex!

4. Safe sex. This is required for contemporary stories.
Certain historical, fantasy, etc. stories may be exempt from this requirement, but this will be the exception rather than the rule.

5. Word counts: 2,500 to 90,000 words

6. All characters must be 18 years of age or older, even in historicals and fantasy.

7. In addition to your hottest male/female stories, we’d love to see your m/m, f/f, ménage, poly, interracial, multicultural, BBW, May/December, kink, fetish, BDSM, and other stories that take sexy to the edge!

Stories may not contain:

  1. Sex between characters under the age of 18.
  2. Rape for titillation (exploring it for literary
reasons is ok, but rape is a crime, not a turn-on. Capture fantasy, dubious
    consent stories, etc. are OK.
  3. Pedophilia or incest.
  4. Necrophilia or bestiality (vampires, shapeshifters,
    aliens, and other sentient non-humans
    are OK).
  5. bodily functions, i.e. “golden showers.”
Etopia ‘Rotica

From literary erotica to sexual adventure, Etopia ‘Rotica is pure, molten desire. This is erotica at its hottest, no romance required. The only requirement is eroticism, and the pure joy of sex. Etopia ‘Rotica is sex incarnate.

These stories should be bold and unafraid. A woman’s or man’s sexual journey, fantasy, interlude, adventure…this is where the mind and body run free and prudish limits are left behind. All kinds of erotic stories are welcome, as long as they celebrate the beauty and joy of sex.

Etopia ‘Rotica stories should be:

1. About sex. Not only do the characters have it, but sex
should be integral to the story in some way.

2. Adultery and cheating are sometimes present in
“sexual journey” or “sexual coming of age” stories. This is
fine if it fits the story. Casual or uncommitted sex is also OK. However all main characters should be basically “good” people (excluding villains, if any). These should not be stories of the sick and twisted — we have a horror
line for that!

3.There does not have to be a happily-ever-after or
happy-for-now ending. There does not have to be an emotional relationship or commitment (although there may be—it depends on the story). Erotic stories that follow the traditional romantic plot arc and have these types of endings should be directed to Etopia Rush!

4. Kink, fetish, BDSM, ménage and poly, interracial,
multicultural, LGBT, and all sorts of sexual fantasy are welcome. The hotter, the more erotic, the better.

5. Word counts: 2,500 to 110,000 words

6. All characters must be 18 years of age or older, even in historical and fantasy subgenres.

Etopia ‘Rotica may not contain:

  1. Sex between characters under the age of 18.
  2. Rape for titillation (exploring it for literary reasons is ok, but rape is a crime, not a turn-on. Capture fantasy, dubious consent stories, etc. are OK.
  3. Pedophilia or incest.
  4. Necrophilia or bestiality (vampires, shapeshifters, aliens, and other sentient
    non-humans are OK).
  5. bodily functions, i.e. ”golden showers” and the rest.

    Worth The Risk
    30,710 words
Contemporary Romance – for Etopia-Rush Imprint

    Pitch:

Molly and Tanner were high school sweethearts, who after graduating from university envisioned a life together—a life including a family. Reeling after suffering a miscarriage wrought with complications, Molly, fearful that she may never be able to give Tyler the family he deserves, decides to sacrifice her future happiness for his. But, when he reappears ten years later, looking for answers, her secret and the pain it caused resurfaces, her heart yearns for the love they once shared, and she can only wonder … is he Worth the Risk?

    First 100 words:

I need to tell him. I need to do this now. I can’t put it off any longer.

“Not hungry?” Molly’s head whipped to the side. Tanner’s expressive eyes twinkled, his brows raised, dark points over his aviator sunglasses. “Or, are you planning to eat the saran wrap and all?”

Her gaze dropped to the unwrapped sandwich she held tight in her hands, mayo and bits of tomato bursting out the sides. Releasing her chokehold on her lunch, she placed it on the bench seat between them and rubbed her palms down her thighs. “Ah, no. I guess I’m not.”

    1. Crap - found a typo in the pitch - so embarassing - his name is Tanner, not Tyler. Too manner characters and projects in my head today. So sorry!

Six years later Bellamy is finally ready to face Luke and close the door to her past, but when sparks fly and he learns her secret can he forgive her and give her a chance to start over?

First 100 words: The drive from Savannah to Beaufort was uneventful. Bellamy had done the drive so many times she could’ve done it in her sleep. The scenery was breathtaking. Bellamy smiled as she took it all in. She looked at the time displayed on the stereo. She’d be at her parent’s house in thirty-five minutes. She was thrilled to see her mom and dad. But her twin brothers, Dustin and Dylan, now that was different, although 6 years separated them they were as thick as thieves. Bellamy was the baby and loved following her brothers around because of one person…Luke. She shook
