So, I want to thank everyone that stopped by yesterday and wished me goodluck! I always say, I have the best online support group ever!
After about an hour and a half wait, we met the sweetest doctor. She probed my neck for a moment and quickly went in for the kill. Mrs. Firasek, we're going in.
So, in the next few weeks, I'll be going under the knife to remove at least half of my broken thyroid.
I did find out that the nodule I so lovingly call my twin has created her own children and we now have some nasty cysts inside the tumor that may or may not be cancerous. We'll deal with that during surgery.
So what does this mean for the world? Probably not much. If you catch me spouting nonsense into the social media world, please take a moment to remind me that I'm under the influence of medication and to get the hell off twitter! Lol.
I've never been prone to drunk tweets, and I worry about the drivel I could come up with. I'm sure it would be quite naughty.
Oh, and on a side note--I did try to get hubby to help me pass the time while waiting for the doc, but he was sure they had cameras. One of these days I will tempt him beyond the prim n proper!

We'll be waiting to hear the news, Rachel! Good luck, and be sure to hop on Twitter while under the influence. I think it'll keep me entertained while in edits! <3
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad she's going to take care of it for you quickly!!!
ReplyDeleteI hope the surgery goes well and you're feeling MUCH better soon!!!
*HUGS*
Lisa :)
wishing you the best
ReplyDeleteI just got through months of cysts and possible cancer
so I know the ups and downs
bless you as you go through this...
Having just gone through a couple of major surgeries, this is the advice I have for you - document EVERYTHING. Save every bill, every explanation statement from your insurance company, and when something doesn't add up, make the phone call. I just saved myself over $2k from doing this. Doctors' offices and hospitals make mistakes. Insurance companies make mistakes. Keep your papers in a 3 ring binder, by date, including everything that led up to yesterday's appointment, and monitor all your bills. You'll be glad you did.
ReplyDeleteNow, on a less practical note, HUGS!!! And OMG!!!! And I know you'll come out of this like a champ. Painkillers are good. Having other people pamper you is terrific. Bring slippers and a robe to the hospital. Anesthesia made me nauseous the first time but not the second time. Norco doesn't make me nauseous, but Percoset does. Your mileage may vary.
While we don't have the same thing, I've been there. Call me any time. Sending hugs and all healing good wishes to you.
